Jesus Is Our Peace: Finding True Identity and Access to God in Ephesians 2

Hello, beautiful sisters in Christ!

What if the God who created the universe sees you as the rarest, most valuable treasure on earth? What if He crafted you uniquely—through impossible odds, with billions of possibilities—and chose you to come into existence? No one else like you has ever lived, and no one ever will.

This truth hit me deeply recently while reflecting on Og Mandino's The God Memorandum (from The Greatest Miracle in the World). In it, God speaks directly: You are not one of a herd heading for mediocrity. You are a priceless rarity, created by the Master Himself. Why value yourself in pennies when you are worth a king's ransom? Why believe the voices that demean you when your Creator declares your infinite worth?

This echoes the heart of Ephesians 2, where Paul reminds us we are God's workmanship—His masterpiece—created in Christ Jesus for good works He prepared in advance (Ephesians 2:10, KJV: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them").

Jesus Himself said believers would do the works He did—and greater (John 14:12, KJV: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father"). He preached the gospel, healed the sick, cast out demons, raised the dead (like Lazarus after four days), calmed storms, fed multitudes, and showed compassion to outcasts. If we believe His Word is true, these aren't just historical events—they're invitations for us to step into similar works through Him.

But how do we live this out?

It starts with recognizing Jesus is our peace (Ephesians 2:14–18, KJV):

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

In His body on the cross, He abolished the enmity—the hatred—that separated us from God and from one another. He tore down the middle wall of partition, repealed the condemning legal code, and formed one new humanity in Himself. Hostility was put to death; love was ushered in.

Now, through Him, we all—regardless of background—have access by one Spirit to the Father. No more separation. No more outsiders. We can come boldly to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16, KJV: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need").

When life feels overwhelming—financial mountains, sudden fears, anxiety from the world—run to Him. Ask for wisdom; He gives generously without scolding (James 1:5, TPT: "And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace").

Make God your default. Let challenges trigger quicker connection: "Dad, show me Your solution." He cares about every detail—quilts for loved ones, daily stresses, hard conversations. Shut out the noise that breeds anxiety (news, overload) and let Scripture play in your home. Reflect on His faithfulness; write down what He's done. Perspective shifts when we see through His eyes.

We can do hard things because Christ in us is greater. David faced Goliath not in his strength but in faith. We face our "Goliaths" the same way—trusting the One who abolished hate and gave us love.

Sisters, you are His poetry, recreated to fulfill a destiny planned before you were born (Ephesians 2:10, TPT paraphrase). Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's nudges. Minister, heal, love, share the gospel—one authentic conversation at a time.
